Join us for our first retired members event for some time. We are pleased to invite retired members to Burlington House on Thursday 4th September at 11:00 for 11:30 talk on the mystery surrounding James Bond’s original Aston Martin followed by lunch.
Our speaker, Stephen’s professional life has been centred on marketing, communications and sales effectiveness. Whilst he has served many industries for the past thirty years have been focused on Life Sciences in which he still provides services.
Stephen started working on Astons as soon as he could lift a spanner, around 1960. He helped his father prepare his many Astons for Concours events with great success. In 1975, Stephen restored his first Aston, a DB6MK2 Volante which won the Aston Club autumn concours that year and the next. In 1988 the ex-Lord Brabazon DB2 was acquired and rebuilt by Stephen. The car went on to win many concours trophies and was driven in hill climbs.
Stephen has written and co-written five books on the marque, restoring his first Aston, a DB6MK2 Volante which won the Aston Club autumn concours that year and the next. He has raced Aston Martins (and some other marques) since 1978, including at Le Mans, and continues to do so to this day. He has owned many Astons, ranging from 1932 to 2010 models.
Stephen will give us an entertaining and informative talk on the legendary Bond car, as seen in Goldfinger and the mystery that surrounds it, followed by an excellent lunch.
